About the Chocolate Voice News Magazine
Founded in December of 2007, the idea for a news
publication came about as a result of many
conversations between mother and daughter, Lula
Hunter and Gwen (Hopkins) Pierce about the need to
spread positive stories and information.
The Chocolate
Voice was established to create an optimistic
publication which celebrates the past and present
achievements of African Americans connected to the
Tucson Arizona area. CV also communicates positive
information spotlighting people of color and authors in
mainstream media. Our objective is to move past
negative stereotypes and labeling in an effort to
promote a healthy well being for all.
