Community Spotlight: Imperial Ave. Street Festival Celebrates Diversity in San Diego’s Oldest Neighborhood

On Saturday, August 29th, 2015, the 2nd Annual Imperial Avenue Street Festival celebrates the diversity of one of San Diego’s oldest neighborhoods. The free event hosted by BAME Renaissance Community Development Corporation (BAME CDC) offered attendees of all-ages, four blocks of local artists, crafts and some of the most delicious food in the neighborhood.  The headliner for the event featured Neosoul recording artist, Goapele.

Other entertainment line-Up on two separate stages, the main stage and the community stage included:  Rebecca Jade & The Cold Fact, Fabio Alejo, Eddie Baltrip & Fulfillment, Missy Anderson, Banda Tierra Brava, Bart Mendoza, Errverybodi Dancers, Chunky Sanchez, The McKinney Project and, Piracy Conspiracy. The headliner for the event featured neosoul recording artist, Goapele.

BAME Renaissance Community Development Corporation (BAME CDC), a locally based nonprofit, organizes this event every year. Its mission is to strengthen residents and businesses in Greater Logan Heights neighborhoods through community empowerment, education, economic growth and housing development.
