“Hot Chocolate Nutcracker,” is an uplifting cultural twist on a beloved holiday classic— written and directed by award-winning actress, director and choreographer Debbie Allen.  Back by popular demand, the remarkable production will appear for the third year at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

The magical storyline centers around Kara Johnson, an imaginative young girl who receives a Nutcracker filled with hot chocolate for the holidays. Kara takes the audience on an enchanting journey, from Candy Cane Lane to the Land of the Kimona Dolls to Bollywood.

The  amazing young cast is made up mostly of talented children from local schools in the Los Angeles area, students of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy located in Culver City, as well as a few professional child actors.

As one of the few adults starring in the production, Allen plays one of three wisecracking rat narrators.

Public performances for “Debbie Allen’s Hot Chocolate Nutcracker,” will be held on December 6 and December 8  at UCLA’s Royce Hall, 340 Royce Drive. For ticket prices and schedule visit www.thehotchocolatenutcracker.com.
