We’ve been following Issa Rae since her youtube series Awkward Black Girl and First and are so excited to finally be watching the trailer for her new comedy show on HBO, Insecure.
Rae is an emerging comedic icon and has been incredibly inspiring to black girls across the internet and globe, so it’s awesome to see her work come alive on our TV sets.
Jay Ellis from The Game will star as her unemployed boyfriend and Lisa Joyce from Wildflowers, will play her co-worker at an educational non-profit. It’s been a few years since we heard rumors about her partnering with HBO, and now that the show is here – we know it will be worth the wait.
