With Summer just right around the corner now is the perfect time to start planning for a vacation. Whether you enjoy traveling to faraway locations, or staying close to home making it a staycation, there are a number of African American travel blogs that will give you some ideas on where to go.  Check out seven below that have wowed us on social media with their vibrant photo’s and creatively cultural experiences!

  1. Rondel Holder founder of travel and culture blog dedicated the young black professional, SoulSociety101.com, says “Don’t be afraid to start smaller. People explore the world at very different paces and there’s nothing wrong with that! If you haven’t done cities in the U.S. like Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, Chicago, Houston, New Orleans and Miami, maybe start there to get into your travel groove. People underestimate how much the U.S. has to offer.”

  2. Traveling sisters Chelle & Crystal Roberts, of Brown Girls Fly, travel website dedicated to celebrating women of color who wanderlust,  share their melanin-infused perspective on travel. “Our passion for travel, cultural connections, languages & great deals is insatiable. And, our mission is to inspire others, particularly women like us, to travel more frequently and further outside their comfort zones.”

  3. Founded by Zim UgochukwuTravel Noire is a digital publishing platform for travelers of color that creates compelling tools, resources & experiences to help  change the way we view international travel. Travel Noire was named by Fast Company as one of the Most Innovative Companies in the World, right beside Apple, Airbnb & Uber.

  4. Black & Abroad  is especially for those who enjoy organized group travel.  The site is a cultural collective dedicated to encouraging and celebrating Black Travel.

  5.  Girls Going Global, is a non profit organization founded in 2012 by Spelman Alumni Martice Sutton to expose inner city girls to the cultures of the world. Sutton, a native of West Philadelphia and avid traveller, wanted to give back to her community by sharing her international experiences with young  adolescent African American girls.  Girls Going Global has hosted a summer program to advocate for global engagement among adolescent girls and to educate them on the paths to global leadership.

  6. Teri Johnson is the creator, host, and executive producer of Travelista TV, an online video network with a focus on travel, culture, lifestyle and entertainment. Known for her spontaneity, jovial personality and her ability to present travel and lifestyle advice and experiences to all demographics, she is recognized as a global travel expert.

  7. Oneika the Traveller’s  impressive website states that she has an intense passion for travel, culture, and language. Oneika has travelled to over 80 countries on six continents and is always the verge on planning her next trip. Sounds like our kinda gal.
